On August 6, project sponsor Aboitiz Foundation, in partnership with Aboitiz Power Corporation business unit - Therma Luzon, and project implementer Manila Water Foundation formally inaugurated the first of the nine multi-faucet hygiene facilities to be realized under their LCFWinS: Lingap Eskwela sa Pandemya partnership.

The 10-faucet, pedal-operated hygiene facility built at Bigo Elementary School in Pagbilao, Quezon Province would not only benefit its students and staff, but also improve the school's DepEd WinS star rating from zero-star to one-star for the hygiene facility category.

On September 6, Aboitiz Foundation, through Aboitiz Power and Therma Visayas, and project implementer Manila Water Foundation also turned over a 10-faucet pedal-operated hygiene facility at Bato Elementary School in Toledo City, Cebu.

These initiatives are under the LCFWinS: Lingap Eskwela sa Pandemya project of the League of Corporate Foundations that has served more than 115,000 individuals in 29 schools nationwide. This project at Bato Elementary School is the 13th handwashing facility constructed under LCFWinS, and are two of the many facilities from the generosity of Aboitiz Group.

LCFWinS is a collaboration between and among corporations and corporate foundations supporting the WASH in Schools Program of the Department of Education. It also strengthens the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan of the Department in this time of the pandemic, and prepares the schools for the safe return of students, teachers, and staff to campus when face to face classes resume. Meanwhile, the 10-faucet hand hygiene facilities in Quezon and Cebu will be used by teachers and parents as exchange modules and the students learn from home.
