Manila Water Foundation in coordination with Manila Water - Marikina Business Area deployed immediate water relief to families affected by Typhoon Fabian in Marikina City on July 24.
Around 1,400 families or more than 5,000 individuals living in high risk areas in Marikina City are temporarily seeking shelter at H. Bautista Elementary School and Malanday Elementary School. The preemptive evacuation was prompted after the water level of Marikina River surpassed 16 meters earlier today.
MWF provided 5,000 gallons of Healthy and Pure purified drinking water and 200 water tumblers, and distributed 1,620 P&G Safeguard bar soaps. Manila Water - Marikina Business Area also installed a static water tank to augment the supply of clean water for affected families in the evacuation center.
