Locally stranded individuals receive WASH support

Manila Water Foundation reached out to more than 200 locally stranded individuals (LSIs) who are temporarily sheltered at the Philippine Army Gymnasium in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on June 22. Canceled flights to Mindanao forced the LSIs to seek shelter at Fort Bonifacio since June 19.

In partnership with Goldilocks Philippines, MWF deployed 1,000 Goldilocks Classic Mamon, total of 1,008 bottles of 350ml drinking water to help 24 gallons of Cleene Ethyl Alcohol, and 160 bottles of alcohol from Dragon Edge.

Philippine Army Spokesperson Col. Ramon Zagala expressed gratitude for the donated food, water, and hygiene products for the locally-stranded individuals accommodated at the Philippine Army Wellness Center. "Your goodwill brought them comfort in these trying times and with the help of partners like you, we can continue to keep them safe and COVID-free until they can be with their families again," he said in a statement.

MWF is grateful to its partners who provided food and hygiene support to the stranded travelers: Goldilocks, PHILUSA Corporation, and Dragon Edge.

The effort is under the WASH in Pandemic initiative, which aims to provide water access, sanitation, and hygiene support to those affected by the pandemic.
