Manila Water Foundation’s Agapay Tubig extends support to testing and quarantine centers in Quezon City and Clark, Pampanga as the fight against COVID-19 continues.
Water Relief for QC Caring Center and Hospitals
In Quezon City, 520 gallons of bottled drinking water were distributed to Victoriano Luna Medical Center (VLMC), Philippine Heart Center, and HOPE II Community Caring Facility.
VLMC, a COVID-19 testing center under the AFP Health Service Command, received 50 units of 5-gallon bottled water. In a message, Mariam Wilbeth Manio of VLMC-Department of Surgery expressed that the donations helped uplift their energy as they continue to serve during this pandemic. “Due to this outbreak, we experienced shortage of supplies. With this donation, it helped us keep our energy high and continue serving our people,” Manio said.
In a statement, the Property and Supply Division of PHC also expressed thanks for the continued donation of 20 gallons of water for their staff. “Your unwavering support truly reflects your social responsibility. Water is life in saving lives. Again, our deepest gratitude,” said in a statement.
MWF also supported HOPE II Community Caring Facility, one of the four community quarantine facilities of the Quezon City Government through the provision of 50 units of 5-gallon bottled water. HOPE II accommodates suspected patients waiting for their test results from community-based testing, and can accommodate 500 COVID-related cases.
Water connection for the ASEAN Convention Center
Converted to a COVID-19 facility, the ASEAN Convention Center inside Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga received Php 47,000 from the Foundation to fund its water connection. The convention center has a capacity of 150 beds and will be used to house COVID-19 suspected patients in the area
The water connection support provided by the Foundation was in collaboration with Manila Water’s subsidiary, Clark Water Corporation.
