February 3 is National Toothbrushing Day (NTD)!
In celebration of the National Dental Health month, Manila Water Foundation (MWF) trooped to Balara Elementary School where 100 4th grade students participated in the nationwide simultaneous tooth brushing event held in different parts of the country.
Together with Manila Water Quezon City Business Area, MWF conducted a session on the 7 steps to proper toothbrushing complemented with a demonstration on the steps to proper handwashing under its Health in Our Hands program.
February 3, 2020 is the first ever NTD celebration launched by the Philippine Dental Association (PDA). In its press release, Philippine Dental Association said that the awareness day is in parallel with the National Dental Health Month. "National Toothbrushing Day aims to coincide with the celebration of the National Dental Health month through simultaneous nationwide tooth brushing. This is to promote the importance of maintaining good oral health for all ages and all sectors of the society. The main highlight of the event will be on good tooth brushing habits, proper technique and emphasis on the need to brush for two (2) minutes twice a day."
The event was attended by School Principal Paz Ramirez, Manila Water (QC BA) Customer and Stakeholder Manager Rubi Martir, MWF Flagship Programs Manager Jubail Pasia, Partnerships Manager Nix Hipolito and Partnerships Officer Ed Magturo.
