More than 800 families were displaced by fire in a residential area at Market 3, Barangay North Bay Boulevard North (NBBN) in Navotas City on October 18. Reports stated that at least 200 houses were burned down by the fire. Left homeless, residents who lost their homes to the fire were temporarily sheltered at the Barangay NBBN basketball court.
Manila Water Foundation, in coordination with the Office of the Vice President's Angat Buhay program and in partnership with Healthy Family, deployed 1,000 pieces of five-gallon bottled water to bring aid to the evacuated families.
Manila Water Foundation’s Agapay program that seeks to support the call for humanitarian assistance in the event of emergencies and disasters by providing access to safe and potable water and sanitation interventions to affected communities and families. Agapay Tubig is a sub-program which aims to deploy water to communities that are affected by disasters and natural calamities to address the disaster victims’ needs for drinking, bathing and washing.
