"Napakalaking impact talaga niyang [hygiene facility]. Hindi ko naisip na ganoon pala ang magiging outcome...Ang inisip ko 'yung rehab lang ng faucet--pati na rin pala 'yung roofing. Hindi lang 'yun, in-improve pa nila 'yung water connection...Ang gagamit kasi diyan is more on the intermediate--Grades 4, 5, and 6--kasi wala silang handwashing facility na available," said Mary Ann Andes, School Principal II of Longos Elementary School
In partnership with Bulacan Aqua Estates, Manila Water Foundation (MWF) revisited Longos Elementary School in Malolos City, Bulacan to rehabilitate a hygiene facility and its water service connection under the Lingap Eskwela program. Another batch of pupils also learned about the seven steps to proper handwashing and toothbrushing and received hygiene kits that would complement their learning.
"On behalf of Longos Elementary School, thank you Manila Water Foundation, in cooperation with Bulacan Aqua Estates, for making this project possible. Maraming, maraming salamat," thanked Principal Andes.
Manila Water Foundation hopes that the improved facility will help the school children practice their hygiene habits year-round.
