Office of Civil Defense and Manila Water Foundation ink partnership for disaster response

On August 22, the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) and Manila Water Foundation (MWF) ink a partnership during a MOA (Memorandum of Agreement) Signing event which further strengthens MWF’s Agapay Program, a disaster response program that immediately addresses the water supply and sanitation needs of communities and families affected by disasters and calamities.

The OCD which is the implementing arm of the National Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) will be the requestor and transporter of 5-gallon bottled water and mobile treatment plant (MTP) which will be funded by the Foundation. Under the five-year agreement, OCD will cover the deployment and mobilization costs while MWF, aside from donating bottled water and lending its MTP, will also send a technical team for deployment support.
