Manila Water Foundation seals Cooperation Agreement with Laguna Water, Water.org to bring water, sanitation to communities in Laguna

PARTNERSHIPS FOR WASH: MWF inked a Partnership Cooperation Agreement (PCA) with Laguna Water and Water.org Philippines, which details the targets under the Flagship Programs Ahon Tubig and Ahon Sanitasyon.

Committed to its mission to bring #WASHforAllCommunities, Manila Water Foundation (MWF) sealed a Partnership Cooperation Agreement (PCA) with Laguna Water and Water.org on July 31 that would bring water service to underserved communities in Laguna.

Last May, MWF with Manila Water Philippine Ventures (MWPV), and Water.org Philippines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to signify a three-year cooperation arrangement to support indigent households in having access to clean and safe water services. The PCA outlines the targets under Ahon Tubig and Ahon Sanitasyon, MWF's flagship programs which provide stand-alone water and sanitation interventions, respectively, to indigent communities.

Ahon Tubig and Ahon Sanitasyon

Ahon Tubig Sanitasyon

Through the Ahon Tubig program, MWF commits to serve around 300 households at Barangays Niugan and Mamatid in Cabuyao, Laguna through subsidized water service connection fees. Meanwhile, through MWF's Ahon Sanitasyon program, a communal toilet will be constructed at the Barangay Health Center of Barangay Malaban in Biñan, Laguna.

For both programs, MWF will lead the development and implementation of community information campaigns, so that the water access and sanitation projects in the said communities will be sustained.

Ahon Tubig and Ahon Sanitasyon ensure that more communities have proper hygiene facilities and have clean, safe, and potable water.
