Manila Water Foundation (MWF), Manila Water Philippine Ventures (MWPV), and Water.org Philippines inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on May 6, 2019 in Quezon City to signify a three-year cooperation arrangement among the parties to support indigent households in having access to clean and safe water services.
Mr. Carlos Ani, Country Director of Water.org Philippines, shared the organization's good experience working with MWPV subsidiary, Laguna Water. "We're so glad about the [partnership with] Laguna Water. Marami po tayong natulungan doon sa Biñan, Sta. Rosa and Cabuyao. [We were able to help those in Biñan, Sta. Rosa and Cabuyao.] [The beneficiaries] are very thankful for the water that was provided," he said. "We are so excited about this because this is a new milestone," he added.
Meanwhile, MWPV President Mr. Virgilio Rivera expressed high hopes for this cooperation program. "Collaborating closely with our partner, Manila Water Foundation, we hope that the solution will attain significant scale and make sure that this will be sustainable over time," he said.
Signatories of the MOU include Mr. Virgilio Rivera, President of MWPV, Mr. Carlos Ani, Country Director of Water.org Philippines, and Mr. Reginald M. Andal, MWF Executive Director. The event is also graced by Mr. Robert Michael Baffrey, OIC - Group Director of MWPV Subsidiary Operations, Ms. Karoline Sangalang, MWPV Chief Finance Officer, and Mr. Floredick Pajarillo, Senior Program Manager of Water.org Philippines.
This cooperation arrangement among the said parties will support MWF's “Ahon Tubig” program, which is an infrastructure development program of stand-alone water access interventions.
